I can't find any comparison charts or swatches with Scale 75 vs GW, Vallejo, P3 etc. I use Scale75 and P3 for most of my metallics these days. As the title says, my google fu has failed me. By I tend to mix colours and hence brands and you have cleared up the two brands that I will be mixing most often. As a "one coat painting solution" Contrast simply works better. Vallejo paints are widely considered to be the best paints. So like another user had mentioned, you probably would have had similar results to the Scale75 primer if you would have used the black Vallejo primer.
